June 1, 2008. In his spare time between touring, writing, teaching, and recording, James has taken on the job of editor at Ukulele Yes!. The free quarterly e-Zine (electronic magazine), which caters to ukulele teachers and players alike, began as a bi-annual print magazine in the 1970s. It includes interviews, a range of articles, and a free arrangement in every issue. More.

March 27, 2008. Auckland, New Zealand. Over a hundred `ukulele teachers and enthusiasts gather at the University of Auckland for a two-hour workshop with James. The hands-on session, which focuses on playing techniques and teaching strategies, is a fundraiser for the 2008 Kapono Ukulele Festival.

February 4, 2008. James Hill and J. Chalmers Doane present Ukulele in the Classroom, a series of three method books for students of all ages.
Available in both C and D tuning, the books include over seventy-five arrangements of traditional, classical, and popular music from all over the world. Learn more.  December 6, 2008. Not sure how to lend a helping hand this holiday season? Support the Ukuleles For Peace project, a grass-roots initiative that unites Jewish and Palestinian children through music and song. November 12, 2007. Taught by Rigk Sauer of RISA Musical Instruments, Learn to Play Blues Ukulele is a crash course for aspiring uke blues players. Features a bonus lesson and demonstration by James. Free YouTube lesson.

October 16, 2007. Presented by Music on Main, James and Anne play to a sold-out room at the Jazz Cellar in Vancouver, BC. The duo's intimate and eclectic performance was recorded by CBC Radio and can be heard here.

July 8-21, 2007. For the first time since Uke Fest West, James tours the Bay Area, Santa Cruz, and Huntington Beach, California. Bennett to near-capacity crowds at the Octave Theatre in Kingston, ON, and at the Library & Archives Canada Auditorium in Ottawa, ON. James plays his new GString signature model `ukulele for the first time on stage!

January 6, 2007. The online magazine Rambles posts a glowing review of James' most recent CD, A Flying Leap. "The grand stand out," writes Sarah Meador, "is Hill's classically styled One Small Suite for Ukulele ...it's the essence of an opera poured into less than 15 minutes." Read the full review.
January 1, 2007. Drive your winter blues away with two albums that feature cameo appearances by James and his uke. Let It Snow Too! A Celebration of Canadian Winter, which includes James' instrumental ode to skating "Down Rideau Canal," is a compilation of winter-inspired tunes by songwriters across Canada.
Songstress Yael Wand, also featured on Let it Snow..., has released At Your Door, a very fine follow-up to her 2004 debut Antinomy. The swinging track "The Best Thing In Your Hands" features James on soprano uke.
